Overview

The 'Fostering the Development of New Friendships' program aims to enhance understanding of the relationship between human activities, the environment, and the cultural and natural heritage of Kamay Botany Bay National Park. Through participating in team-building activities students will foster new friendships and strengthen bonds within a group, whilst participating and demonstrating fair play and skills to work collaboratively.

  • PD3-9 applies and adapts self-management skills to respond to personal and group situations
  • PD3-10 selects and uses interpersonal skills to interact respectfully with others to promote inclusion and build connections

Key Inquiry question

  • How do empathy, inclusion and respect have an impact on myself and others?

Students will

  • Walk along a bush track and in groups, complete a number of observations and investigations.
  • Explore Kamay Botany Bay National Park using GPS devices to collect information for solving a puzzle.
  • Participate in a variety of team-building activities to foster the development of new friendships.
