The Bush Christmas Incursion presents Early Stage 1 - Stage 1 students with an incredible opportunity to dive into the enchanting Australian Christmas story, "Santa and the Sugar Glider," written and illustrated by a talented Australian author. This heartwarming tale delivers a powerful message about following your dreams, helping others, and embracing the magic of Christmas.
In "Santa and the Sugar Glider," size doesn’t matter, and a sprinkle of Christmas cheer makes all the difference! When Santa encounters a "sleigh emergency," he enlists the help of Australian wildlife, highlighting the importance of teamwork and the true spirit of the holiday season.
This engaging and interactive experience is designed to inspire students to overcome negativity and discouragement, all while celebrating the wonder of learning and the joy of Christmas.
Students will uncover the fascinating features of Australian native animals through various exciting activities that stimulate curiosity and creativity. They will sing along to a catchy song written by the Kamay Botany Bay Environmental Education Centre, participate in dramatic role play, enjoy a lively game of Australian native animal bingo, and cap off the lesson by crafting their very own sugar glider kite!
