Incursion – Local places
Geography outcomes
- identifies places and develops an understanding of the importance of places to people
- communicates geographical information and uses geographical tools.
During the incursion students use story and nature play to investigate their school or local park.
They will:
- unlock the secrets from a special message left in their classroom
- participate in an adventure walk to make some important discoveries
- use nature play to discover the wonders of their place
- discuss how and why we care for our important places
- complete a combined writing activity where students will create a narrative and map to recount their adventure.
Perspectives of traditional Aboriginal lifestyle are integrated throughout the program.
