Overview
Students will investigate water in the world through a wetland’s ecosystem including water quality, weather, and climate. They will examine water as a resource and the factors influencing water quality, flows and availability of water resources. Students will investigate variations in people’s perceptions about the value of wetlands and the need for sustainable water management. They will investigate processes that continue to shape the environment including a hydrologic hazard.
Students will
- Collect data using a variety of water testing equipment at Kamay Botany Bay National Park, Kurnell.
- Collect data using a variety of water testing equipment outside the Desalination Plant, Kurnell.
- Investigate Aboriginal seasonal calendars, catchment management systems.
- Use GPS devices for mapping.
