Bring the expert educators from Kamay Botany Bay Environmental Education Centre to your school for an engaging, hands-on incursion! Our qualified teachers will guide students as they explore their own school grounds, sparking curiosity and discovery right where they learn every day.

Overview

In this exciting incursion, students will investigate the rich biodiversity of their own school environment, using the geographical inquiry process to explore the unique features of their local natural and built surroundings.

Students will conduct fieldwork without leaving school, using a variety of tools to observe, measure, and record data on plant and animal life, soil composition, and environmental conditions. Through hands-on investigations, they will develop their scientific observation skills, record their findings in field journals, and analyse their discoveries to understand how ecosystems function and change over time.

This engaging incursion will help students explore why natural spaces are valued, the role of conservation, and how human actions impact sustainability. By applying real-world skills in their own school setting, students will gain a deeper appreciation for their environment and explore ways to protect and manage it for the future.

Tailored to suit your school’s context and student needs, this cost-effective, interactive incursion brings geography to life—all without the need for bus travel.
