Unit Description
Students explore Kamay Botany Bay as a significant place, investigating its natural and built features, Aboriginal Peoples’ ongoing connection to Country, and how people care for places. Through hands-on, place-based learning, students engage in active exploration and inquiry, using practical and reflective experiences to deepen their understanding of how people interact with, use, and care for places.

Students will:
- Explore the bush trail to identify natural and built features and understand why Kamay is a special place.
- Investigate Aboriginal connections to Country by examining tools, stories and traditional practices used at Kamay.
- Examine change over time at Alpha Farm to compare how people have used and interacted with Kamay in the past and present.
- Observe the beach shoreline and rock platforms to identify human impacts and practise ways to care for coastal environments.
